SB10 would bar a person required to register under the Sex Offender Registration Act of 1997 and who is assessed as a level 3 or level 4 offender from distributing treats to a child or from wearing a mask or other costume as part of a Halloween-related event. Full Article
Yea, wow. I’m glad it didnt go through, although on the other hand it would have been another law to lobby that registration is no longer merely administrative.

Man, this article perfectly highlighted how politicians just throw crap at walls to see what sticks so they can pad their resume. “Did you know data showed there’s no increase of offenses during Halloween?” “Uh… I haz no numbers. I don’t knowz. But we needz it! Think of the childrenz!!!”
Falsely creating such legislature to the contrary of facts should be a illegal as falsely reporting a crime. Until politician heads start rolling for this blatant BS, nothing will change.

This has to be discrimination. A law blanketing everyone in a category regardless of offense or risk, meanwhile not applied to any other category of crime.
